Suspect Charged for Murder of Malik Islam, 46

COLUMBUS, OH – The Columbus Division of Police reported a major development in a homicide case from early December. Laroy Robinson has been arrested and charged with the murder of Malik Islam, 46, following a shooting incident on Cornell St.

On December 2, at 12:10 a.m., police responded to a shooting at the 2000 Block of Cornell St. They found Malik Islam suffering from a gunshot wound. Islam was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead at 12:26 a.m.

The investigation revealed that Islam was conversing with the suspect before he was shot. On December 21, an arrest warrant was issued for Laroy Robinson in connection with this case. Robinson surrendered at the Franklin County Jail on December 27 without incident.
