WOODBRIDGE, VA — Eugene Glascoe, a chef from Woodbridge, turned his $25 Virginia Lottery scratcher win into a substantial $178,906 jackpot by playing the online game, The Lamp. He used the Lottery’s mobile app to scan his winning scratcher ticket and then decided to try his luck with the online game.

Glascoe’s success was immediate and dramatic. “I jumped up and yelled!” he shared with Lottery officials. His family initially thought something was amiss due to his exuberant reaction.

The Lamp, known for its progressive jackpot, is accessible through the Virginia Lottery’s website and its mobile app. The odds of winning a prize in this game are 1 in 3.55.
