Beloved Longtime School Crossing Guard Retires in Paramus

PARAMUS, NJ – School Crossing Guard Lorry Bauer has retired after 35 years of dedicated service with the Paramus Police Department. Known for her daily presence at the crosswalk of Spring Valley Road and Forest Avenue, Bauer was celebrated for her unwavering commitment and cheerful demeanor.

The Paramus Police Department marked Bauer’s retirement with a special ceremony. Chief Guidetti, Captain Teehan, Lieutenant Linden, and Traffic Officer Esposito presented her with a certificate of appreciation and flowers in recognition of her long-standing service.

Bauer’s consistent efforts to ensure pedestrian safety and her friendly interaction with the community were highlighted during the event. The Paramus Police Department and Paramus Public Schools extend their best wishes to Mrs. Bauer for a happy and healthy retirement.
