Police Investigating Park Trash Can Fires as Arson

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland Police Department has issued a call for assistance in an ongoing investigation. The Western Region Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is probing a series of trash can fires at Constitution Park, Cumberland. The incidents occurred between December 27 and December 29.

Authorities are seeking information from the public to aid in the investigation. Individuals with any knowledge about the fires are encouraged to contact the Western Region Office at 301-766-3888. The police department assures that those providing information can do so anonymously. The community’s cooperation is vital in resolving this case.
