Cumberland Police Arrest Man on Assault and Drug Charges

CUMBERLAND, MD – Yesterday, Cumberland Police Department officers responded to an assault report at a business located on the 100 block of Greene Street. Upon arrival, they found two individuals requiring medical attention.

The investigation led to the arrest of 53-year-old Daniel Webster Myers from Old Fields, WV. During the arrest, officers discovered a Controlled Dangerous Substance, suspected to be cocaine, on Myers.

Myers was charged with Assault in the 1st Degree, Assault in the 2nd Degree, and possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. Following his arrest, he was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center where he awaits his hearing.
