Elderly Newark Man Struck and Killed on New Year’s Eve

NEWARK, NJ – Eugene Thacker, aged 80, tragically lost his life after a vehicle struck him on New Year’s Eve in Newark. The incident occurred at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Irvine Boulevard around 8:30 p.m.

Thacker was rushed to University Hospital following the collision. However, he was later pronounced deceased, according to authorities.

The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and did not sustain injuries. As of now, no arrests have been reported in connection with the incident.
