Statesville Lottery Winner Claims First $100,000 Top Prize in New Game

STATESVILLE, NC, JANUARY 3, 2024 — Tommy Scott, a resident of Statesville, won the first $100,000 top prize in the newly launched Money Bag scratch-off game. Scott’s winning ticket was purchased from the Shell 115 station on Wilkesboro Highway in Statesville.

Scott visited the lottery headquarters on Tuesday to claim his prize. After the necessary tax withholdings, he received a total of $71,501.

The Money Bag game, which recently made its debut, initially offered four top prizes of $100,000. Following Scott’s win, three more top prizes of $100,000 remain available for players to win.
