Aberdeen Painter Wins $50,000 Lottery Scratch Off Ticket

ABERDEEN, MD – Timothy Johnston, a local painter and pressure-washing professional, experienced a stroke of luck on his way to work, winning a $50,000 top prize on a Bonus Cash Doubler scratch-off. Johnston’s routine lottery play at an Aberdeen retailer led to an unexpected windfall.

After playing his regular Pick 3, Pick 4, and Pick 5 numbers, Johnston found himself with an extra $11 in the Lottery vending machine. He decided to purchase two $5 Bonus Cash Doubler scratch-offs and a $1 game. Subsequently, he visited a nearby park with his dogs, where he checked his tickets.

His first scratch-off brought him a modest $5 win, but it was the second ticket that stunned him with a $50,000 prize. The excitement of the moment almost caused him to overlook one of his wandering dogs, which he quickly attended to before calling his wife to share the incredible news.

Johnston, a father with an adult son, plans to invest part of his winnings in a new dishwasher, with other plans for the funds still under consideration.

The win also benefits Beards Hill Liquors, located at 951 A-D Beards Hill Road in Aberdeen. The store will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize winning scratch-off ticket.
