NEWARK, NJ – Newark residents are preparing for a weekend marked by snow and rain, as forecasted by the National Weather Service. The weather is set to shift significantly starting Saturday afternoon.

The forecast for overnight indicates partly cloudy skies with a low around 27 degrees. Winds from the west will range between 3 to 5 mph.

On Saturday, snow is expected to begin after 4 p.m. with a high near 36 degrees. Initially light and variable winds will turn eastward in the morning at 5 to 10 mph. The probability of snowfall is 90%, with a possible accumulation of around one inch.

Saturday night will see a complex weather pattern. Rain and snow are anticipated before 1 a.m., followed by drizzle between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., then a return to rain and snow after 4 a.m. The low will hover around 32 degrees, with wind chill values between 20 and 25. East winds will blow at 15 to 17 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%, with new snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday’s weather includes rain and snow before 4 p.m., followed by a slight chance of snow. The high is expected to be near 36 degrees with northwest winds at 10 to 13 mph. The likelihood of precipitation stands at 80%, but little to no snow accumulation is expected.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather reports and prepare for the upcoming mixed precipitation.
