Man Charged with Murder in East Harlem Stabbing

NEW YORK, NY – Dafren Canizalez, a 24-year-old male, was fatally stabbed on Saturday, January 6, at approximately 7:27 PM. The incident occurred inside 600 East 125 Street, within the 25th Precinct’s jurisdiction. Canizalez, residing at 50 East River Lane, New York, NY, was found with a stab wound to the torso following a 911 call reporting an assault in progress.

Emergency services transported Canizalez to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced dead. The police took a 26-year-old male person of interest into custody at the scene.

In connection with this incident, Moises Coronado, 27, also of 50 East River Lane, was arrested on Sunday, January 7, at 5:00 AM. Coronado has been charged with murder. The investigation into this matter continues.
