Ice Fishing is a Thing in New Jersey, But First You Need the Ice

TRENTON, NJ – NJ Fish & Wildlife is organizing an interactive seminar on ice fishing, focusing on safety and techniques. The event is scheduled for Sunday, February 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Pequest Trout Hatchery and Natural Resource Education Center.

Participants will learn about ice safety, methods to stay warm and dry, techniques for targeting specific fish species, and essentials regarding equipment and bait selection. This seminar is ideal for both beginners and experienced anglers looking to refine their ice fishing skills.

Interested individuals must register by January 24 at 12:00 p.m. Selected applicants will be notified of their participation by January 26. The seminar aims to prepare attendees for ice fishing, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills for a safe and enjoyable experience.
