Mooresville Woman Wins $1 Million on NC Lottery Ticket

MOORESVILLE, NC – Stephanie Lowe, a resident of Mooresville in Iredell County, won a $1 million prize from a $30 scratch-off ticket.

Lowe purchased the winning Millionaire Maker ticket at Speed Mart, located on Hasty School Road in Thomasville. Upon claiming her prize at the North Carolina Lottery headquarters on Monday, she faced a significant decision regarding the payout method.

Lowe had the option to receive her prize as a 20-year annuity of $50,000 annually or as a one-time lump sum of $600,000. She chose the lump sum option. After deducting state and federal taxes, Lowe’s take-home amount totaled $429,009.
