Police Arrest 30-Year-Old Man Who Shot Woman Multiple Times Inside Baltimore Parking Garage

BALTIMORE, MD – On January 1, Central District officers arrested Jamal Artis, 30, in connection with an attempted murder.

The incident occurred around 1:22 a.m., near the 400 Block of East Baltimore Street.

Officers, alerted by gunfire, located Artis exiting a parking garage stairwell onto East Baltimore Street. A handgun was recovered from him upon a search.

Further investigation in the parking garage revealed a 22-year-old female victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

She was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition. Artis faces charges of attempted 1st-degree murder, attempted 2nd-degree murder, and additional charges.
