Suspect Arrested in Murder of 17-Year-Old Philadelphia Teen Tyron Rozier

PHILADELPHIA, PA – James Adams, born January 8, 2001, has been charged for the 2021 murder of 17-year-old Tyron Rozier in Strawberry Mansion, as announced by District Attorney Larry Krasner.

The Grand Jury proceedings, largely sealed, allowed the release of some case details.

On July 4, 2021, Rozier was fatally shot by Adams using a 9mm “ghost gun.”

Philadelphia police, corroborating a public tip, identified Adams as the suspect. Utilizing digital and forensic methods, the Gun Violence Task Force obtained an arrest warrant, apprehending Adams recently.

Charged with murder and related offenses, Adams awaits a preliminary hearing, currently held without bail.
