Arrest Made in Bronx Assault Case

NEW YORK CITY, NY – Following an ongoing investigation, the New York City Police Department has announced the arrest of Niorge Martinez, a 27-year-old male from the Bronx.

On Tuesday, Martinez was apprehended at 6:00 am. He faces multiple charges including attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, and reckless endangerment.

This arrest relates to an assault incident that took place on Monday, January 1, at the intersection of East 194 Street and Bainbridge Avenue. Two unidentified individuals discharged firearms multiple times, injuring a 21-year-old male and a 22-year-old male.

The victims received medical attention at Saint Barnabas Hospital and were reported in stable condition. Following the attack, the suspects were seen fleeing westbound on East 194 Street and entering the Kingsbridge Road subway station.
