Self-Inflicted Gunshot Leads to Arrest in Rocky Mount

ROCKY MOUNT, NC – On Monday, the Rocky Mount Police responded to UNC Nash Health Care following a reported shooting.

Joshua Yuset Jeffries, 20, from Wilson, NC, suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the thigh at Rolling Meadows Apartment complex.

Further investigation by the Rocky Mount Police Department Major Crimes Unit revealed Jeffries’ status as a convicted felon currently on probation. Following treatment, Jeffries was arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is now held without bond at the Nash County Jail, as investigations continue.
