Damascus Man Arrested for Severe Child Abuse Against Baby

DAMASCUS, MD – On Monday, Montgomery County Police arrested Oliver Hernandez Caballero, 25, from Damascus, on charges of first-degree child abuse.

The arrest followed an investigation into severe injuries inflicted on his 5-month-old child.

On December 28, 2023, the child was hospitalized with critical injuries to the head and body.

Following an investigation by the Special Victims Investigations Division, it was determined that Hernandez Caballero, the child’s father, was responsible for the abuse.

Hernandez Caballero is currently held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, facing two counts of first-degree child abuse.
