Garfield Man Arrested for Armed Robbery and Assault in Little Ferry

LITTLE FERRY, NJ – Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, in collaboration with Chief Jason Love of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Chief James Walters of the Little Ferry Police Department, has announced the arrest of Jose Milton Mejia-Mejia.

The 32-year-old Garfield resident is charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault in Little Ferry, NJ.

The incident occurred on Thursday, December 28, 2023, around 6:03 p.m.

Little Ferry Police officers responded to a report at 19 Harding Place regarding an armed robbery and assault on a commercial business employee. The victim was attacked with a bat, sustaining head injuries, and was later hospitalized.

Investigations revealed that Mejia-Mejia had previously slashed the victim’s tires. During the assault, he dropped a handgun. A vehicle connected to the crime was identified, leading to Mejia-Mejia’s arrest.
