Martin County First Responders Extinguish Raging Boat Fire

MARTIN COUNTY, FL – The Martin County Sheriff’s Office highlighted the exceptional teamwork displayed by the Martin County Sheriff’s Marine Unit, Jupiter Island Police Marine Unit, and Martin County Fire Rescue in handling a severe boat fire this week.

The incident, which occurred in the intercoastal waterway, posed significant challenges due to the nature of marine fires. The first responders, equipped with marine firefighting apparatus, collaborated effectively to control and extinguish the fully engulfed boat fire. Marine fires are notably difficult to access and contain, making the successful teamwork and quick action of these units all the more commendable.

Fortunately, the occupant of the boat and his dog escaped the incident without injury, although the boat suffered extensive damage. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office took this opportunity to applaud the skill and dedication of their Marine Unit, Jupiter Island Police Marine Unit, and Martin County Fire Rescue, recognizing them as their “Team of the Week” for their outstanding efforts in ensuring public safety.
