Oakhurst Man Apprehended for Attempted Burglary at Jersey Mike’s Sub Shop

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – On December 16, 2023, Wall Township Police Department officers were called to Jersey Mike’s on State Highway 35, following reports of an attempted burglary.

Detective Zach Honecker’s investigation revealed a similar incident at the Ocean Township Jersey Mike’s.

Jacob Long, a 25-year-old former employee of both locations and resident of Oakhurst, was apprehended.

The arrest followed a collaborative effort between Wall Township and Ocean Township Police Departments.

Long faces charges of criminal mischief and attempted burglary. He has been transferred to Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
