South Jersey Man Set Neighbor’s House on Fire Three Times in One Week

Steven Johnson, 36, faces charges of aggravated arson in connection with three separate fires at a neighboring abandoned house in Little Egg Harbor Township. Authorities arrested Johnson after surveillance footage allegedly showed him setting the third fire.

The incidents occurred on January 6, 10, and 12 at a property on Revolutionary Road. The first fire, reported at 1:30 a.m. on January 6, started in the living room and was determined to be arson. Another fire targeted the property’s shed on January 10, shortly after midnight. On January 12, during surveillance, Johnson was reportedly seen jumping over the fence and igniting the deck with a flammable liquid.

Law enforcement quickly extinguished the third fire and apprehended Johnson at his residence. Investigations linked him to all three incidents. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office acknowledged the collaboration of multiple agencies, including the New Jersey State Fire Marshal’s Office K-9 Unit, in the investigation.
