Teenager Injured in Shooting at Dwight Hawkins Park, Deltona

DELTONA, FL – A 17-year-old was injured in a shooting incident at Dwight Hawkins Park in the City of Deltona, Florida. The incident occurred around 3:20 PM today. The victim, who was sitting on a bench at the time, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

A responding deputy from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office quickly administered first aid and applied a tourniquet. Deltona Fire Rescue arrived shortly after and provided further assistance. The teenager was then transported to a hospital for treatment.

Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. More information will be provided as the investigation progresses.
