New York City Cop Busted for DUI Refuses Breathalyzer Test

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – On Wednesday, at 2:02 AM, an off-duty New York City police officer was arrested within the 9th Precinct, authorities reported. Lesley Pierluisse, a 42-year-old NYPD officer, faces charges including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Driving While Apparently Impaired, and Refusal to Take a Breath Test.

The arrest was made public later in the afternoon on Wednesday.

The NYPD has not issued an official statement regarding the officer’s current duty status following the arrest.

Officer Pierluisse was hired in 2008 and made $133,000 last year. In 2018, Pierluisse was cleared of an allegation of excessive force and abuse of authority made by a 59-year-old black male.

In 2013. Pierluisse was charged with purchasing alcohol for a minor and falsifying a police report.
