Pedestrian Struck in Schenectady in Critical Condition

Police were called to a motor vehicle crash last night in Schenectady after receiving multiple 911 calls. At approximately 5:40 PM, Schenectady Police were dispatched to the intersection of Union Street and Seward Place.

Officers arriving at the scene discovered a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was found unconscious and in critical condition. Schenectady Fire Department paramedics provided immediate on-scene treatment and subsequently transported the individual to Albany Medical Center.

The Schenectady Police Traffic Division, Crime Scene Unit, and Schenectady County Crash Reconstruction Team are handling the investigation. The vehicle’s driver is cooperating with the authorities. Due to ongoing processes, the pedestrian’s identity has not been released, and their condition remains critical.
