Teen Fatally Shot and Killed In Utica

UTICA, NY — A 16-year-old boy from Utica was fatally shot on the evening of January 17. The incident occurred at around 9:30 PM in the 110 block of Smith Place, according to the Utica Police Department.

Responding to the scene, Utica Police and Fire units found the teenager lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his head. He was promptly transported to Wynn Hospital, where efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.

The victim’s identity remains undisclosed as officials await consultation with his family.
