Jersey City Public Schools Announce Early Dismissal for January 19 Due to Snow

JERSEY CITY, NJ – Superintendent Dr. Fernandez of Jersey City Public Schools has informed parents and staff of an early dismissal scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2024, due to an impending snowstorm.

Schools will dismiss at 12:45 PM, and there will be no CASPER or after-school activities. This decision is made to ensure the safety of students and staff in anticipation of the challenging weather conditions.

The district also notes that all essential personnel, including custodial, security, and maintenance staff, are expected to work their regular hours.

Dr. Fernandez extends thanks to the community for their understanding and cooperation in this matter. The district prioritizes the safety of its members and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
