Aggravated Robbery at Akron Subway, Suspect Sought

AKRON, OH – On Wednesday, a robbery at the Subway on 1033 Kenmore Blvd turned violent when the suspect, after demanding money, shot a customer in the arm.

The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. The female suspect, armed with a handgun hidden in her bookbag, initially demanded money from the cash register before targeting a customer entering the restaurant.

After shooting the customer, the suspect fled on foot behind the business towards 17th Street SW.

The Akron Police Department is actively seeking information to identify the suspect.

Detective R. Doney, the APD Tip Line, and the Summit County Crimestoppers are the points of contact for any leads. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous; the public is cautioned not to approach her and instead call 911.
