Norfolk Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Man

NORFOLK, VA – A confrontation involving a Norfolk Police officer and a security guard led to an officer-involved shooting on Friday on the 100 block of E Little Creek Road.

The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m. following a call about a suspicious person.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a man wielding a knife.

The situation escalated when the man approached the officer, resulting in both the officer and a security guard discharging their weapons.

The man was shot and has been transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Virginia State Police are now handling the investigation of this critical incident.
