Cumberland Man Faces Multiple Charges After Assault

CUMBERLAND, MD – The Cumberland City Police arrested 49-year-old Chandler Deron Michael Elbin on Thursday, on three active warrants.

Two of these warrants were for violating probation terms related to 2nd-degree assault and violating release conditions.

The third warrant, issued for an incident on January 10, at a residence on Oldtown Rd, alleges that Elbin assaulted a female victim, causing multiple facial injuries.

Following his arrest, Elbin was presented before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center.

He is currently held without bond. The charges include two counts of probation violation and 2nd-degree assault.
