Young Man Fatally Shot in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A young man’s life was cut short following a shooting in Northeast Washington, D.C., now under investigation by the D.C. Metro Police Department.

The incident occurred Thursday night, with officers responding to a call at around 10:04 p.m. in the 5000 block of South Dakota Avenue. They discovered a young man with gunshot wound injuries. He was quickly taken to a hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive.

23-year-old Ryan Realbuto from Pittsford, NY, has been identified as the victim. Detectives are working to understand the sequence of events leading to the shooting.
