Major Fentanyl Bust in Prince George’s County; Nine Arrested

RIVERDALE, MD — The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Gang Unit has arrested nine suspects following the seizure of nearly 14,000 fentanyl pills and multiple firearms from a Riverdale apartment.

Detectives, after conducting an extensive investigation, obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 5400 block of Hamilton Street. The warrant was executed on January 18, 2024. During the search, officers recovered 13,825 fentanyl pills, cocaine, and three firearms.

The nine individuals apprehended at the apartment are Sean Floyd, 31, of Bladensburg; Steven Abdul Johnson, 31, of Greenbelt; Francisco Orellana, 30, of Riverdale; Antonio Sanchez-Ramirez, 22, of Riverdale; Javier Reyes-Guzman, 28, of Hyattsville; Fernando Guzman, 33, of Glen Burnie; Marbin Hernandez-Alavarez, 22, of Riverdale; Erick Rivera-Arguera, 20, of no fixed address; and Walter Flores-Mejia, 22, of Riverdale.

Each suspect faces multiple charges, including drug trafficking and firearms offenses. They are currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Deputy Chief Zachary O’Lare of the Bureau of Investigation commended the Gang Unit and the Emergency Services Team for their work. He emphasized the importance of this operation in combating the fentanyl crisis, noting the drug’s deadly impact on Americans.

The operation was funded by the Maryland Criminal Intelligence Network (MCIN) grant, awarded by the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention, Youth, and Victim Services.
