The Ocean Township Police Department is raising awareness in the community following a series of residential and vehicle burglaries in recent weeks. Residents are being urged to take extra precautions to secure their homes and vehicles.

Authorities are advising locals to diligently lock their doors and vehicles, remove key fobs and valuables from cars, and make use of alarm systems. The importance of keeping key fobs out of sight is emphasized, as burglars have been attempting to enter homes specifically to find them. Additionally, residents are advised to check the functionality of all window locks and exterior doors to ensure they are secure.

In response to these incidents, Ocean Township Police officers are intensifying patrols in residential areas to deter and prevent further crimes. The police department is requesting the community’s cooperation in reporting any suspicious activities immediately by calling 911 or the department at 732-531-1800. This proactive approach aims to enhance safety and security in the township.
