In a grim discovery, police officers responded to a wellness check at 800 East 179th Street, located in the 48 Precinct, on January 20 at 1:58 PM. Upon their arrival, they found an unidentified person in a decomposed state inside an apartment.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were called to the scene and pronounced the individual deceased. The cause of death is yet to be determined and will be investigated by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
