COLUMBIA — Howard County police announced a $5,000 reward for information regarding the Jan. 21 shooting on Snowden River Parkway, which has now resulted in the death of a Virginia teen.

Natanael Rodriguez Cuxun, 17, from Arlington, succumbed to his injuries on Monday following the incident. Cuxun was in a vehicle just south of Rustling Leaf around 2:10 a.m. when an unidentified assailant fired several shots from another vehicle. He was hit once, while the other two occupants in his vehicle were unharmed.

The suspect’s vehicle fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Police are actively investigating the incident and have indicated that this was not a random act of violence.

Authorities urge anyone with information to come forward, as the reward aims to encourage tips that could lead to an arrest.
