Brooklyn Woman Charged with Murder After Hit-and-Run

BROOKLYN, NY – Naomi Broomes, a 33-year-old Brooklyn resident, was arrested and charged with murder and leaving the scene of an accident on Wednesday.

The charges relate to an incident that occurred on January 11, involving the death of Shakira Serrano, a 24-year-old female.

On the evening of Thursday, January 11, police responded to a call about a pedestrian struck at 1210 Loring Avenue.

Serrano was found severely injured and was subsequently pronounced deceased at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.

The ongoing investigation led to Broomes’ arrest.
