MIDDLETOWN, PA– A potential tragedy on a Route 1 overpass was averted thanks to the quick action of Sgt. Mark McLeod of the Middletown Township Police Department. On the morning of January 10, Sgt. McLeod responded to an emergency involving a suicidal man threatening to jump into the traffic below.
While coordinating the response of incoming officers, Sgt. McLeod successfully halted traffic on Route 1. He engaged the distressed man in conversation, maintaining dialogue until additional support arrived. This intervention was crucial in ensuring the man’s safety.
