Police Shooting in Pittsburgh Leaves One Man Dead

PITTSBURGH, PA – The County Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in the South Side Slopes neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, with Pittsburgh Police responding to a ShotSpotter notification at 1:38 am on the 1900 block of Huron Street.

An encounter between a responding officer and a male outside a residence led to gunfire at 1:49 am, resulting in the male being shot.

Officers administered CPR and aid before the individual was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

 No other injuries have been reported. The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating, and the involved officer’s status will be assessed by Pittsburgh Police policies.
