Ocean County Murder Suspect Extradited After Hiding Out in North Carolina

OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – On Friday, Juan Santiago-Rojas, 31, of Point Pleasant Borough, was ordered to remain in detention at the Ocean County Jail pending trial.

He faces charges of Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Assistant Prosecutor Kimberly Carr handled the detention hearing before the Honorable Rochelle Gizinski, J.S.C.

Santiago-Rojas has been in custody since his extradition from Wilmington, North Carolina, on January 12.

The public and press are reminded that these charges are accusations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
