Courteous Food Delivery Driver Victim of Newark Armed Robbery

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Department, led by Director Fritz Fragé, has issued a request for public assistance in identifying three suspects involved in an armed robbery.

The incident occurred on Monday, January 22, at around 12 p.m., targeting a food delivery employee on the 70 block of Peabody Place.

The victim, while delivering food, was approached by the suspect, who had signaled him from across the street. Two additional males accompanied the primary suspect.

One of the suspects, armed with a weapon, demanded the delivery worker’s cell phone. The trio, described as Black males with slim builds, proceeded to search the victim’s pockets and stole $102.89. Surveillance footage captured images of the suspects: the first suspect was in a black ski mask and black pants, the second was wearing a ski mask and a grey-black fleece jacket, and the third donned in a dark blue and black jacket.

The Newark Public Safety Department asks anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.
