Virginia Police Respond to Multiple Swatting Incident in Albemarle County

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – The Albemarle County Police Department is currently investigating three suspected “swatting” incidents that occurred between Friday and Monday.

The first two incidents, reported on Friday and Sunday, involved false claims of a suicidal juvenile in Timberwood Boulevard.

The latest incident, reported on Monday, involved similar claims in Rodman Drive. In each case, the Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue found no evidence of the reported situations.

Captain Darrell Byers, Commander of the Criminal Investigations Division, condemned these acts for their potential danger and misuse of law enforcement resources.

The department asks anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigations Division or CrimeStoppers for anonymous tips.
