72-Year-Old Arrested for Deadly Hit and Run

BROOKLYN, NY – On Monday, 72-year-old Bruce Zurrow was arrested in connection with a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred on January 16.

The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad led the investigation following a 911 call about a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Bay Ridge Avenue and 13th Avenue.

The victim, 52-year-old Xiaohong Chen, was found unconscious with severe injuries and later pronounced deceased at Maimonides Medical Center.

Zurrow, the driver of a Dodge Ram pick-up, was identified as the individual who struck Chen while driving eastbound on Bay Ridge Avenue. He remained at the scene following the incident.

Zurrow faces charges including Failure to Yield to Pedestrian and Failure to Exercise Due Care. The investigation is ongoing under the NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad.
