Juvenile Arrested in Connection with Edgewood Shooting Incident

EDGEWOOD, MD – A 17-year-old has been taken into custody facing charges related to a shooting that occurred on January 17, 2024, in Edgewood, leaving a 22-year-old man with serious injuries. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest following a thorough investigation into the incident that shocked the local community.

The shooting took place near Harford Square Drive at O & P Court around 9:05 p.m. Harford County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene to find Oluwatishe Oluwatamilore Ilori, a Rosedale resident, with gunshot wounds to both the upper and lower parts of his body. Deputies provided immediate first aid until medical personnel arrived, and Ilori was airlifted to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore by a Maryland State Police Medivac Helicopter.

Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division took over the case, leading to the identification and subsequent arrest of the juvenile suspect on charges of attempted first-degree murder. The arrest was made on February 2, 2024, following the execution of a search warrant by detectives, the Crime Suppression Unit, and the Special Response Team. A loaded HK Smith and Wesson .40 caliber firearm was found and seized during the arrest.
