Edgewood, MD – A juvenile has been charged by detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division following an armed robbery connected to a Playstation 5 sale arranged via Facebook Marketplace.

The incident took place on January 31 in the 2200 block of Hanson Road, Edgewood.

Responding to a call at approximately 5:15 p.m., deputies from the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office met with a victim who reported an armed robbery during a prearranged meeting to purchase a Playstation 5 console. According to the victim, the suspect, described as wearing a black hoodie with white lettering, a black beanie, dark pants, and a light pastel pink medical face mask, entered the victim’s vehicle for the transaction. It was during this exchange that the suspect revealed a matte black “carbon fiber” handgun, threatened the victim, and absconded with the cash intended for the console purchase.

A thorough investigation led to the identification of a juvenile suspect. On February 2, law enforcement executed a search and seizure warrant, resulting in the suspect’s arrest with the assistance of the Special Investigations Division and the Special Response Team. Recovered items included a Playstation 5 console, a black backpack, a hooded sweatshirt, a beanie, a pink medical face mask, a BB gun resembling a Glock, and two cellular phones.
