Newark Woman Charged for Shoplifting

NEWARK, NJ – Vernice Harvard, a 61-year-old resident of Newark, was arrested for shoplifting on Wednesday.

The arrest was made by Detective Jason D’Agostino at a retail business on South Avenue West. The incident occurred at approximately 4 PM when staff alerted Det. D’Agostino to a possible shoplifting situation.

Following a brief investigation, Harvard was arrested for shoplifting. She was processed and is scheduled to appear in Municipal Court. Details of the items shoplifted or their value were not disclosed.
