Serious Jersey City Crash Claims Life of Bayonne Woman, Two Injured

Jersey City, NJ – A tragic motor vehicle collision early Saturday morning has resulted in the death of a Bayonne woman, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez. The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit, in collaboration with the Jersey City Police Department, is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident that occurred on February 3, 2024.

The collision took place around 12:20 a.m. on Route 185 near the Linden Avenue East intersection in Jersey City. Officers arriving at the scene discovered a 2019 Nissan passenger vehicle that had rear-ended a parked and unoccupied tractor trailer.

Emergency services transported the driver and two passengers of the Nissan to Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC).

Stephanie Weymouth, a 31-year-old female passenger from Bayonne, was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after 1:00 a.m. The 28-year-old female driver from Staten Island and a 27-year-old female passenger from Old Bridge sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Both were treated at JCMC and have since been released.
