Two Charged for Drugs in Avenel

AVENEL, NJ – On Monday, two individuals were arrested near the intersection of Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road.

Robert Sutyak, 60, from Avenel, and Stephanie Nunez, 35, from Irvington, faced charges relating to drug possession and outstanding warrants.

Detective Ryan Gerrity conducted the arrests following a traffic stop for seatbelt violations at approximately 1:43 PM.

Sutyak was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), specifically cocaine and heroin. Nunez, the passenger in the vehicle, was found to have several active warrants.

Both individuals were processed. Sutyak was given a Superior Court appearance date, while Nunez was released pending court appearances.
