Baltimore Man Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run Case

BALTIMORE, MD – A significant development has occurred in a case that has gripped the Western District community since last year. On February 3, Baltimore police apprehended 49-year-old Derek Glenn, charging him with negligent manslaughter in connection to a tragic incident that unfolded on March 18, 2023.

The case centers around the fatal hit-and-run of 42-year-old Heidi Marie Rose. According to investigators, Rose was crossing the street in the 1600 block of West North Avenue when Glenn struck her with his vehicle. In a move that compounded the tragedy, Glenn fled the scene without contacting law enforcement, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

The breakthrough in the investigation came as detectives arrested Glenn on the 2800 block of Lawina Road. Following his arrest, Glenn was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces charges for his actions leading to Rose’s untimely death.
