Three Teens Arrested in Connection with Baltimore County Shooting

Towson, MD – The Baltimore County Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit has made three arrests following a non-fatal shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, February 4, 2024. The shooting took place around 5:15 p.m. in the 6000 block of Marquette Rd., within the jurisdiction of the White Marsh Precinct, resulting in a 16-year-old male suffering a gunshot wound to the lower body. The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

The individuals apprehended in connection with this violent event include a 16-year-old, a 17-year-old, and 19-year-old Alexis Chavarria-Valencia. Both juvenile suspects have been charged as adults, a decision underscoring the severity of the charges against them. The trio faces attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and various firearms-related charges.

Currently, all three suspects are being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. The police department’s swift response and subsequent arrests highlight the ongoing efforts to address and mitigate violent crime within the community. The incident and the charges laid against these individuals underscore the serious nature of gun violence in the area, as well as the law enforcement’s commitment to ensuring public safety and bringing those responsible to justice.
