Tragic Single-Vehicle Accident Claims Life in Glen Burnie

GLEN BURNIE, MD – A devastating accident on Friday evening resulted in the death of a Glen Burnie woman, marking a somber moment for the community. At approximately 7:10 p.m., local law enforcement was called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Route 10 North near Mountain Road.

The vehicle involved, a 2011 Nissan Frontier, was reportedly traveling in the northbound left lane when it unexpectedly veered onto the left shoulder, subsequently entering the center median. This maneuver led to the driver losing control, causing the vehicle to rotate across all northbound lanes before it drove onto the right shoulder and collided with a culvert. The impact was severe enough to roll the vehicle onto its driver’s side and into two trees before it finally stopped.

The driver, identified as 68-year-old Cynthia Herman of Glen Burnie, Maryland, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. She was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. The Traffic Safety Section of the local police department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
