Lakewood Man Gets 30 Years in Prison for Sexting 12-Year-Old

TRENTON, NJ – Samuel Schwinger, a 38-year-old resident of Lakewood, New Jersey, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for his involvement in coercing a minor to produce images of child sexual abuse, as announced by U.S Attorney Philip R. Sellinger.

Schwinger previously admitted his guilt in front of U.S. District Court Judge Georgette Castner, facing a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor. The sentencing took place today in the federal court of Trenton, marking a significant conclusion to the case.

The investigation revealed that Schwinger engaged in communication with the victim, who was under 12 years old, via an internet-based application in March 2019. He coerced the child into creating and sending sexually explicit videos. Further admissions by Schwinger disclosed that from October 2018 to April 5, 2019, he had similar interactions with over 25 minors, aiming to produce and share sexually explicit material.

Beyond the prison sentence, Judge Castner has mandated a 10-year supervised release for Schwinger upon his prison term completion. Additionally, he is required to register as a sexual offender.
